Recreational Gymnastics Classes

Embers 1

Ages 6 - 9 years
Embers 1 is an introduction to gymnastics for young athletes. The focus will be on learning the basic skills with good technique. Strength and flexibility will be introduced to increase coordination and body awareness. Students will use all four events; vault, bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

Embers 2

Ages 6 - 9 years
Embers 2 is the continuation of learning from Embers 1. The gymnast will progress to more difficult skills; while gaining strength and flexibility. Students will continue to use all equipment in the gym. Bars, balance beam, vault, and floor exercise will be included in weekly lessons.

Embers 3

Ages 6 - 9 years
This is an intermediate/advanced gymnastics class. Athletes will have accomplished the skill requirements in Embers 1 and 2 will be working on more advanced level skills. Embers 3 will continue to utilize the bars, beam, floor and vault. Strength and flexibility will be incorporated into each lesson. This class is 1.5 hours long.

Flames 1

Ages 10 & Up
Flames is a beginner level class for athletes ages 10 and up. The focus is on the introduction to gymnastics skills and body awareness. Students will be encouraged to work on coordination and purposeful movement. All four gymnastics events, bars, beam, floor, and vault, will be incorporated into weekly lessons.

Flames 2

Ages 10 & Up
Flames 2 is an intermediate level for gymnasts ages 10 and up. Gymnasts will be introduced to more advanced skills as well as strength and conditioning. Athletes will continue to progress at their own pace while gaining skills and confidence.

Flames 3

Ages 10 & Up
This is an intermediate/advanced gymnastics class. Athletes will have accomplished the skill requirements in Flames 1 and 2 will be working on more advanced level skills. Flames 3 will continue to utilize the bars, beam, floor and vault. Strength and flexibility will be incorporated into each lesson. This class is 1.5 hours long.

Tumbling 1

Ages 6 - 9 years
Tumbling 1is the introduction of proper tumbling technique.
Athletes will learn the basic tumbling skills such as; forward roll, backward roll, handstands, cartwheel, and round offs etc. They will be encouraged to be creative in their movements and develop strong safe skills.

Tumbling 2

Ages 10 & Up
Tumbling 2 will focus on the progression of basic skills. Athletes will work on basic skills as well as round offs, front/ back handsprings etc. As skill allows the practice will then include combination tumbling and higher level skills.Such as front/back tucks, layouts and beginning twisting. Athletes will also gain strength and flexibility. This is a great class for athletes that want more time to tumble or use tumbling for other sports.

Boys Rec 1

Ages 5 - 10 years
Boys Rec 1 is an introduction to gymnastics for young athletes. The focus will be on learning the basic skills with good technique. Strength and flexibility will be introduced to increase coordination and body awareness. Students will utilizeĀ all apparatus throughout the gym.

Boys Rec 2

Ages 8 - 12 years
Boys Rec 2 is the continuation of learning from Boys Rec 1. The gymnast will progress to more difficult skills; while gaining strength and flexibility. Students will continue to use all equipment in the gym. The focus will be building upon the basics learned in Boys Rec 1 into higher level skills.
